I have my MacBook Pro and I used to use a “BalenaEtcher” before Catalina has come to me. I don’t know why, but it doesn’t work today, I have an error while it starts to create bootable flash.
I have a solution in the terminal using ‘dd’ utility.
In first, you should define the name of your flash disk. You can get it with this command:
I use it when my flash isn’t connected then I connect the flash drive and just see a difference. Usually, the name of my flash device is /dev/disk2
Next, you should unmount the target device.
diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk2
Next, we use ‘dd’ utility for creating bootable flash:
sudo dd if=/path/to/img of=/dev/disk2 bs=4m & sync
You can use statistic info with ‘Cnrl + T’. After this process, we will get a bootable flash.
